Social Remedies: simple and powerful interventions in the workplace
Humans are innately social creatures and our mental health is heavily influenced by social circumstances. Loneliness is often a significant factor in mental health decline.
Workplaces are also inherently social. In times of stress, the quality of workplace relationships is a key determinant of whether employees mental health suffers or thrives.
Yet, very little is discussed about how the social aspects of work can be leveraged to improve mental health and productivity.
Lauren believes that this can be a key advantage for workplaces. She has coined the term Social Remedies to refer to a range of interventions that foster empathy, connection, and community.
In this keynote, Lauren discusses the science behind human’s need for social connection and how this translates to the workplace. She shows how these interventions are often simple, inexpensive to implement, and benefit the whole culture.

The stories we tell ourselves: how to re-author “the truth”
We are constantly telling ourselves stories: about ourselves, about others, about why things happen. These stories play a huge role in shaping our well-being.
What if we were to author these stories more consciously? How might this transform the way we feel about ourselves and our experiences? How might it transform our relationships?
In this keynote, Lauren discusses surprising quirks of our brain. She shows the audience how fickle “reality” actually is, leaving them questioning what they thought they knew.
She shares practical tools to notice, and change, the stories we tell ourselves, giving participants a toolkit to take away.
And, through story, she illustrates how transformative these skills can be.
